Caring Communities celebrates its 20th year as the leading Member-Owned liability insurance company to exclusively serve not-for-profit senior housing and care organizations. At their annual meeting and 20th anniversary celebration in Clearwater, Florida, Caring Communities awarded AALNA’s president, Calvin Groeneweg, Risk Manager of the Year for 2021!! This is the first year Caring Communities has given out this award, so it is a huge honor for Calvin to be the first risk manager in Caring Communities’ history to receive it!!

With over 30 years of experience, Calvin Groeneweg, RN C-AL, is the Director of Risk Management for Sequoia Living. In addition to being the President of AALNA, Cal is also one of the founding members. Throughout his 18+ years of involvement with AALNA, Cal and the board of directors have served members by cultivating partnerships and collaborations with other organizations to provide resources and opportunities for education and networking for our individual and corporate members. Looking forward, Cal’s goal is to increase the visibility of AALNA and inform more nurses about what AALNA does for nurses in assisted living. AALNA’s board of directors recognizes this major achievement for Cal and takes great pride in sharing this accomplishment with all of our members.
