CAPITAL FUNDING DELIVERS FOOD FOR LONG TERM CARE HEROES
Baltimore-area Capital Funding Group is lending a helping hand to long term care workers while giving a boost to local restaurants with its Meals For Healthcare Heroes Initiative. The donations help caregivers in assisted living and nursing care facilities while helping restaurants keep employees on payroll for deliveries. The group plans to give out over 2,000 meals to long term care workers.
VETERANS IN LONG TERM CARE HONORED WITH MEMORIAL DAY SALUTE
Veterans, unable to leave their community in Fitzsimmons, Colorado to honor their fellow servicemembers, were treated to a special on-site ceremony with members of their community. Local chapters of the American Legion, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts joined a color guard, a chaplain, and two bugle players who played Taps. “I think it’s doing an act of kindness to these people, and brightening them up a little on Memorial Day,” said Reid Black, 11, a Boy Scout.
NASCAR TEAM HONORS “NURSING HOME HEROES”
NASCAR is making its return from COVID-related shutdowns and one team is making a special effort to honor health care heroes. “It just came as an idea to use NASCAR as a platform to get the word out to all of our healthcare workers in nursing homes, how much we appreciate what they do,” said the driver’s mother, who has a 20 year history in the profession.
