Nepal is a majority rural country that sits between two giants: India and China. Nepal’s unique geographical context and the current political climate has presented unique challenges in COVID response. Furthermore, there was an initial focus to push the serology test instead of the PCR, which led to protests across the country and confusion. Global Emergency Medicine Fellow at Brown University, Dr. Ramu Kharel, will discuss Nepal’s context and its response to COVID thus far.
